Is Our Place a halfway house?
Our Place is NOT a halfway house. We are a transitional living program focusing on healing the mind, body and spirit; a holistic approach. We are the missing link between clinical treatment and integration back into real life. This is the most crucial period to recover from addiction.

How long is your program?
Our length of stay is based on clinical necessity and is by no means insurance driven.  We consider ourselves a “variable length of stay” program.

What if I am from out of town?
Our clients come from all over the country, many from the Northeast Corridor.  When you reach the life changing decision to make Our Place your place, we will coordinate your air travel and transportation from the airport.  Many clients are afraid to leave their home but once here don’t want to leave.

What if I need detox?
Many of our incoming clients require detox.  We work with many reputable facilities in the area and will coordinate your treatment with the most appropriate detox center that accommodates your needs.

What if I am on medication?
We allow our clients to be on medications that are prescribed by their physicians prior to admission provided they are non-addictive.  We ask that you bring all of your prescriptions with you in the original prescription bottles only.

IS THERE STAFF SUPERVISION AT ALL TIMES?
Yes, there is supervision around the clock, seven days per week.

WHAT DOES A TYPICAL DAY CONSIST OF?
The day begins with wake up and breakfast.  Clients are then transported to the office where they participate in morning meditation, group therapy, and educational groups with a break for lunch.  Three days a week clients take part in an exercise program at our professionally appointed gym.  Weekends consist of grocery shopping and a weekly recreational outing.  Evenings are reserved for dinner and completing written assignments.  In addition, clients are escorted to a 12-Step Meeting every night.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?

Typically we tell clients to bring just a week’s worth of casual clothing.  Although Florida has the reputation of being “hot” all year round there are some evenings when it gets cool enough for a light jacket.  Even though we take clients out to the store it is usually easier if they bring their own toiletries.  Clients are allowed up to $50.00 per week spending money; anything over that amount will be locked up in our safe and distributed to the client on a weekly basis.  We do not allow cell phones, laptops, or ipads.  Phones are available for calls home in the evening.  Clients are allowed to bring prescription medications in the original bottles only.  We also encourage clients to bring all insurance and prescription cards in case they are prescribed medication while they are here.
